Dock Leveler Weatherseals: Channels, Inserts, Seals

Dock Leveler Weatherseals: Channels, Inserts, Seals

Dock leveler weather seals can have 2 or 3 pieces: either a seal and insert - or - seal, insert, and channel.

A seal kit can be installed directly onto a dock leveler with just a seal and insert. This can be done by securing the insert to the dock leveler directly (tack weld or tek screw).

If a dock leveler already has a channel installed, the insert could slide into the channel depending on the insert design.

COMMON CHANNEL TYPES

  • C Channel - opening in middle of channel
  • F Channel - opening at corner of channel

INSERT TYPES

  • T Style (WGA04) - can be used with C channel depending on design
  • F Style (WGMS12 *not pictured) - can be used with F channel depending on design
  • Either style insert can be secured to a dock leveler without a channel present.

COMMON SEAL TYPES

  • Brush - usually with a "bead"; common bristle lengths are 1" 1.5" and 2"
  • Rubber - "T" design; "bead" design
  • Vinyl - "L" design for F channel insert depending on design
